Crusader Arms Crypto

After dealing with the RCMP SFSS, I can say pretty confidently say that they will determine this is an AR-15 variant. It is essentially an ATRS Modern Sporter, which in the RCMP’s opinion is an AR-10/AR-15 variant.

Good on them for going ahead and ignoring the RCMP and selling it anyway, and I hope it all works out for them, but buyer beware.
I thought the same for the Raven but that hasn't happened yet. I wonder if that's because of ATRS's pending legal case... I fear if they lose that, the flood gates may open...

Like with all the other not-quite-AR rifles in Canada, I honestly hope it's good. Like with all the other not-quite-AR rifles in Canada, I'm not going to hold my breath.

I thought it would be milled to accept the BCL proprietary 20-round bolt gun mags at first. However, I am not sure if that even would work like pistol mags.

I think overall the price turns me off of it, and I hope they come out with just receivers/builders kits. We will have to see but I am guessing this is filled with basic "mil-spec" parts that will likely all get replaced. Just seems expensive to me when you see some of the other options out there with all custom-made parts and this looks to be built with readily available bulk parts. Correct me if I am wrong and they are manufacturing the Bolts/handguards/lower parts etc.

I think an unedited video of this thing going through a few hundred rounds to show the magazines are reliable would make me more confident.

i think they missed it a little bit. given the current laws i think lockhart and the hk sl8 have it right - a two-part lower that separates trigger group and magwell. this way it's a lot harder to call it an ar variant, and since the magwell isn't as tolerance-specific as the trigger group then you can 3d print magwells for whatever magazine you want and avoid the laws (magazine restrictions, printing entire lowers). i'm currently working on 3d printing a magwell for my sl8 to take the bcl mags.

Proprietary mags and DI. Very interesting.

Pepperidge Farms remembers when AR15 owners cried that $999 was way too much for Modern Sporter and Maccabee SLR receiver sets.
$2k doesn't seem bad, provided the rifle feeds flawlessly from those proprietary mags.
Have any of these been tested by people who aren't close friends of the owner(s)?

Saw that.
Edit: looks like just the dowel was only missing, so maybe it's not broken

Maybe the production models will have set screws to keep those dowels in place?

I wish them well - but the price is a little steep - would be nice if they tried several brands of ammo to see if it shoots consistently accurate at 100 yards under 2 MOA average. It could be a good Canadian coyote popper

someone has to knockdown the price from lockhart , my guess is many more of these are released in the next 3 years. free market moves faster then the government. no way the government is able to update their new defintion and make it into law anytime in the next 5-10 years

I think I'd like one. At 2k though, I'd appreciated no more finger slicing burrs and sharp edges. Can I pay $15 more for 7000 series aluminum upper lol? Are these like 17 inch handguards? I don't think I need that long of a handguard. I kinda like being able to put the barrel into rack slots. What would the upper over insertion ribs dimensions be?

Over insertion is one of my pet peeves considering I like to compete.

Hear that RCMP lab nerds: LIKE TO COMPETE, stop screwing with that.

The MCRs and templars have had good accurate barrels in the past which has been appreciated.

One thing that has never and will never be appreciated are the airsoft fake stocks. Just ship with a naked tube if you're gonna do that. No more fake crap pls.

2 cents.
