Is this range finder worth buying ?

I guess it depends what you're after. In hunting conditions, take the stated range and cut it in half for real world effectiveness. Sure it'll range 850, if you're ranging a big mirror on a clear day.... trying to range a tree in the rain? Not likely to get you much past 400 would be my guess.

My Nikon is a 1300 and was triple the price of that one 5 years ago. It struggles to get me over 700 in the real world for a comparison.
 
I picked up a used Leica 1200 awn'ear a bunch of years ago.
Never ranged past 1000 yards.
One thing that I found amazing was my buddy with his Bushnell couldn't pick up a target
that my Leica could.
Almost as if the zewm zewm is tighter on the higher end unit.

Basic simple unit that like the Duracell Bunny.

I forget what I paid.
Maybe the $350-$400 range?
No regrets on this Leica.

They make other quality optic as well.
I ended up with a used Nikon unit.

The only other thing I'd like to buy this year is a spotting scope.

That will be my 2 things for the year.
