I was out shooting clays today with my cynergy wicked wing, I’ve been shooting challenger target shot through it so I feel like this is a shell issue. But today I had a shell get stuck behind the ejector between the barrel and ejector. My gun wouldn’t close as it the ejector was basically crimping the edge of the shell. I had to get pliers and pry it out around the ejector rim. I have about 500 shells through it with only this one issue. Is this common? Is the fix just don’t expect great stuff with cheap loads?

I have a 3200 that does this and it needs a new ejector because it's worn out. Shells shouldn't normally do this on a gun with only 500 rounds through it regardless of the make. Take a close look at the ejector. See if there's a chunk broke out of it or if it's bent. I think you will be replacing the ejector.

My current sporting clays gun has approximately 40,000 rounds through it and this same thing happened once about 20,000 rounds ago, it was a Kent shell and it seems to have been a one time thing. Maybe I just happened to put the shell in a bit differently that time, I don't know but there was nothing wrong with the gun.
If there is no obvious thing wrong with the ejector then I'd keep shooting it to see if it happens again then have a gunsmith look at it if it does. Challenger shell quality is about as low as it gets in the low end shell market so I'd probably take that into consideration.

Yeah I shot another 100 after that one issue and never happened again. I feel as though it was a shell issue as I’ve shot lots of black cloud during duck season and never had the issue
