I managed to get my Annie 1913 Supermatch out today and use it with the diopter sights. Haven’t shot irons on a rifle in over thirty years. Pretty rusty and have to wear glasses which wanted to fog up lol. Started at 100yards and the groups started at 2 plus inches but tried some different targets and got down to 1” and then shot three ten shot groups at fifty. Obviously much better group sizes at fifty yards. Next I’ll try some other lots of different ammo and see if I can do the 1/2” club with the irons. It was fun!!

Congrats, it is fun, minus glasses and this humidity. Not sure what Annie rear sight I got, but think they came off a 190 with fixed 1.1 iris. Might splurge and upgrade to one with an adjustable iris and better clamp screws. That don't obstruct my bolt release lever.
I tried walking the sights over while keeping the same POI for the 1/2" and was only getting about 3/4" groups. Never did find out what shot more accurate, the 64 S or the 1403 Match 64.
The sights on this came with this rifle when I purchased it a couple years ago. I scoped it and the first time I shot it ,made the 1/2” club easily. It is an extremely accurate rifle. The front sight has a tinted clear insert with two waterline black hash marks, one on each side. I’m not sure about the size of the hole in it and I have a pack of different size metal inserts with different sizes on them and a few styles. Going to have to read up on them. Been a long time and don’t remember much about them. You’d have got a good laugh watching me sighting it in. Turning the dials the wrong way a couple times and man you gottah crank it a bunch to move it much!!
Use the biggest front insert that you have. Even bigger than what you might think is comfortable/useful to get a good sight picture. It is easier to centre a small dot in a big insert than it is a big dot in a smaller insert. I know that this may not make sense until you try it. I have been shooting Fullbore with irons for 30 years, I use a .5 eagle eye in the front sight with a front iris that goes from 5.5-7.5.
Years ago I use to coach a cadet air rifle team. They all thought a smaller front insert would help them shoot better. The following week I took all the front inserts out and made them shoot groups with just the tunnel. Even after all the complaining they found out that they could shoot good groups without an insert. Go big in the front.

Thanks for the info! I’m definitely going to play around again. The setup now is what the gent was using I bought the rifle from. At 50 yards I’m guessing the sight picture is 4” . The proper target I’m assuming makes accurate shooting easier as well. Cheers

I'll try a bigger insert the next time I'm out. Though I only got clears in 2.9.. but got some metal ones from my Lyman kit.

Haven't been able to test any new blinders or wind flags. Though I made one much smaller, have better peferial vision. I'm currently sitting at the doctors with possible nerve damage, that is effecting my left side. So I barely can squeeze a bag or hold a rifle.
Will need to make a base for my bag that I can adjust for height. So save me from squeezing. That will allow me to at least shoot bench.
