New Ruger No. 1's for 2024

I really wish they’d make another one in .308
It’s about the last gun I intend to buy.
6.5PRC is close but it does me no good with the thousands of .308 hunting rounds I have.

The last time they did it was for an anniversary edition and it was too nice to be a hunting rifle and way to expensive for a single shot.

Mine too, in fact I don’t have any anymore, sold them after coming to realize they didn’t fit me he way I like a rifle to fit! But I still find them attractive!

The tropical ones with the irons are good the issue I have with the No1 is when you put a scope on one. Even with the offset scope mounts the scopes are still too far forward

I think the number one may finally be priced at something approaching its value.

Unfortunately the price is high.

Wish I had held onto mine

Nice to see this!

I was hell bent on getting a 303 brit in the no1, but late to the game, and almost non existent to find any out there for sale.

I even went as far as getting a different caliber so I could get a custom barrel mounted. I ended up finding a new 450 bushmaster on the retail scene that just hammers. Stainless model with black pepper stock.

With too many projects and things on the go, I ended up selling the purchased donor rifle and put that 303 on hold for now. Gonna enjoy the 450 bushmaster for this years hunting season though!!

The temptation for me is the RSI in 22 Hornet with a 20 inch barrel... Don't need it... Probably won't use it that much... And will probably be the reasons I won't seek one out... But still the same, a temptation. LOL!

I'm actually using the barnes 290 gr TEZ muzzle loader bullets, and pushing them fast, about 2250 fps, just because its a nice no1 lockup.
Cool idea. Be interesting to see how they hold together with shoulder shots on muley's and black bear. The fast 1 in 10" twist in your No.1 is geared
towards the 250 gr Hornady loads. I run Cast Performance 360gr WLNGC boolits at 1600 fps from my Ruger American Ranch with 16" barrel with
1 in 16" twist . Accurate and with deep penetration for big critters.

Was just sighting in my No 1 in 9.3x74R on Tuesday. I think the scope on it needs to go to Korth, the zero was wandering more than my old shakey skills would indicate. - dan
Fortunately, Korth are fantastic to deal with... with no quibble and fast turn around times.

The Ruger #1 is one of the most elegant North American rifles. I can't say anything to negative about it for quality, appearance and price. However, although the new number ones are new, they are only newly manufactured. Nothing has changed with the rifle; same lock, stock and barrel. No changes with checkering, wood quaility, no cheek-piece, no ebony forend, no engraving.
I would be willing to pay $5,000 to $6,000 if they would upgrade it.

wHerEs tHe CLiP gO?1!!??

Your back pocket!

Yea the 290 gr TEZ get good reviews from the US, and in fact the 250 gr get even more. They are basically a tipped tsx from barnes. https://www.cabelas.ca/product/9722/barnes-spit-fire-t-ez-muzzleloading-bullets-w-sabots

I'm geared up for an elk and then moose hunt this year, so would rather the heavier 290 gr. Hoping for good results on game, but on paper they are great, and the steel gongs out to 300m ring with some authority.

Any kind of stocks for these are VERY few and hard to come by, and only a few out there will make them custom. When you get in touch with the new ruger warranty depot in Canada, they want the rifle in hand to fit the factory stocks to, and can get some of them still, if someone needs.
