So this may reveal how little I know but, can deer see blaze Orange or are they kinda color blind and tuned to movement ? I know in Manitoba we have to wear blaze for safety but if deer can see it then I may minimize the blaze to safe but not deer scaring levels lol. Tia

We had to hunt in hunting colours head to foot for years, and blaze orange was one if the approved colours. Near as I can tell it doesn’t make and difference.

Another good tip, ensure all your visible clothing hasn't been washed in a detergent with UV brighteners. I wash my outer hunting gear in Woolite. If you've used normal commercial laundry soap to a deer you will glow. Soldiers are also advised to use something without the UV brighteners as again, you will glow quite brightly to active night vision systems.

Apply a 'sepia' filter to a photo and you'll see 'like' a deer. It's amazing how much blaze orange can blend!

Yep. If it was all about safety orange pants would be just as good, but you can’t see that when you’re in a vehicle. If blaze orange is so much safer why don’t the wardens wear a orange vest? How about everyone else in the bush? I guess their safety doesn’t matter; but better colour up the guy who actually has the rifle to keep him safe?
I can’t help thinking its more about marking the hunters and knowing which vehicles to stop than keeping them safe. I can drive around the farm for the rest of my life and never see a warden, but put hunting colours on and here come the blinky lights.
I’ve seen a CO do a u-turn and pull somebody over in blaze.
I don’t wear hats unless I’m hunting, or coats while driving anyway so my blaze has always been in the backseat. I’ve mentioned the CO/blaze thing to my hunting group and they think I’m insane. Once in a lifetime. Yeah ok.

No,you're not insane. Hunter orange is reasonable and probable grounds for any CO to initiate a vehicle stop anywhere,any time. A hunter orange hat tossed in a rear window shelf or instrument panel is an open invite. I got sick and tired of being stopped almost every time I headed to the camp or woods,so,I tossed all my orange in my pack and didn't bring it out until I was ready to hunt. That solved the problem.
