I have managed to strike a deal on a 99% M52C Winchester rimfire target rifle. A true gem, that appears to have been used very, very little, and stored properly. The blue is totally intact, including those sharp edges around the muzzle. The Redfield Olympic sights are there, complete, and the wood, with the exception of a few very minor safe kisses, is perfect, with all its original finish. Bore, of course, is pristine. I am really pumped about this one! Can't wait to get it out to the range and see if it can live up to the reputation that these fine rifles enjoy. Regards, Eagleye

No secret, premium pieces can be had for a price...$700.00 was the price. Well worth every penny in my books. These rifles are hard to find in this shape. Regards, Eagleye.

The Winchester 52 is on my eventually must have rimfire list. I have a lot of admiration for that particular model.

Absolutely!! However, right at the moment it is snowing like a son of a gun, and they say possibly 20cm by tomorrow noon, so that may have to wait a few days. Anyhow, I have to figure out how to mount a good piece of modern optics without drilling and tapping the receiver of this gem. Regards, Eagleye.
 
Only time will tell that! It will have to be pretty good to do so. I have beaten other 52's on 100 meter benchrest in the past, but each is a rifle to it's own. Regards, Eagleye.
 
The trigger looks a bit different than a regular "C" type. It could be the lighting too.... ***but*** they were offered with a "Kenyon" or "Canjar" trigger at added cost...

Give it a go with Lapua match ammo, or similar. My "Miroku" repro is as close as I'm gonna get, but it's a dandy shooter.

Doc; I have Lapua Midas L & M, Ely Ultimate EPS and RWS R50 here to try. I'm sure something will work well. My 541S & T Remingtons like the Midas M, but also shoot this lot of EPS into pretty decent groups. I have shot a couple of 10 shot groups at 100 meters that are just over ½ moa. FWIW, This trigger on the 52C has two adjustments protruding slightly through the bottom metal. One is marked "O.T.", the other "weight". Trigger as received feels about 1 lb, with no creep whatsoever. Will disassemble the rifle to see what is in there later this week. Regards, Eagleye.

FWIW-

Kenyon re-worked the "C" trigger with what amounts to a super tune. The canjar was a direct replacement trigger.... Kenyon is still in business re-doing Winchester triggers. A search on the Win. page at rfc will turn up his contact info...

It's a very good advice that Doc gave you. I got my 52E trigger reworked by Mr. Kenyon and it now breaks at 6 ounces. Turn around time was about three weeks and cost, if memory serves me well, was $135US.
