Targettarget popped in on glocktalk.com to meet the mall ninjas so I figured I'd drop by and say hi here.

I'm a somewhat active shooter with a carry permit and a C&R FFL which allows me to mail order collectibles.

I carry a Glock 30 and a KelTec P3AT, have several M1 Garands SKS's and Mosin's, I have an evil black rifle, and actively shoot with my niece and nephew.

Just thought I'd drop in and check the joint out,

Cheers, friends.

:)

Hey, welcome to THE Canadian Gun site!

We are all very jealous of your firearms laws - Canada has very strict gun laws in regards to handguns and AR15's, allowing us to only shoot them at approved gun clubs (there are exceptions, but that pretty much is it in a nutshell). Concealed carry permits are basically not available up here.

That aside, we do have a fairly strong firearms community, and new members to this site are always welcome :)

"...a C&R FFL..." Hi and thanks for joing us. We don't have anything like that up here. I've seen it on several U.S. forums and still don't understand why you'd want one. Given the paperwork involved. Up here, we buy whatever and deal with the BS registry, but nobody expects any log books or other paperwork. Can you tell us what it's all about? Sounds like a load of ATF BS to me, but I don't live Stateside.

Hello Sunray,

IMHO, a C&R FFL is worth its weight in gold. To get it, I have to fill out a form, send it to the ATF with $30 dollars for 3 years, get the license, and keep a log book. If I am surfing the web a see a collectible I like, I can order it online, send the vendor a copy of my C&R FFL, and it is shipped to my house.

The only downside is I do have to log every purchase in a BOUND BOOK, and I must keep that bound book for 20 years after my license expires (if I ever lety it). It takes less than 5 minutes to log the entry, and I keep the bound book (and receipts for ALL my firearms in it) in my safe.

The ATF can call me and arrange an audit of my bound book, and I can go to them or they can come to me. This does not worry me much either, as I keep all but 2 of the firearms I have ever purchased, I did transfer 2 to my niece when she reached legal age ( A swiss K30 and Yugo SKS)

I don't view it as a hassle at all, but a benefit, as I can add to my collection without having to go through a third party dealer.

Cheers.

HEY, you handsome devil, movin' to Canada, eh? They have one of the highest per-capita beer consumptions in the world!

You will have fun.
