a SST 180gr recovered

Nice recovery, it didn't blow into pieces as everyone says an SST will do
thanks for sharing
funny you say that.
ive been reading only just tonight about some horror stories with SST projies right!?!
all seem to have a theme of real high velocity an close range!

my vel is down from the get go in the fact i use varget in the 06 an its got a 20 inch barrel... im yet to shoot something in close close but that would preferably be on a hind to see how it performs there.

i shoot the SST on the same Zero as the 180gr BTSP interlocks.... same charge . one just seems to fly a little better?!?
ive a good amount of SST and around 100 BTSP interlocks..

i may of just purchased some 200gr Hot Cors.... but first i have some 200 of 178gr ELDX that i would likely load up an use as a go to round.

sort of deciding if need to worry about SST an just roll with the BTSP..

anyway, over thinkin it a bit... :)

SST is a BTSP Interlock with a plastic type. All of the BT Hornady bullets shoot very well in my 30-06 out to 300 yards. I have shot deer with SSTs, Interlocks, GMX in 165 gr at very close range with good results. I am not a guy to dig a bullet out of a dead animal and complain about fragmentation. If you are that close bullet placement should be surgical.

good report, tfs
impact vel would be about 2100 still

have had good luck with lighter/faster Interbonds and have wondered about non-bonded sst's

People say the same about accubomb ( accubond) not a tough bullet come apart too easily! I shot my moose last year with 200gr 8x57 going 2600fps and the shot was I side 100m hit a rib going in and rib going out…. No fragmentation inside the animal that we could find!

i thought this was for the ABLR.... the AB is one of the best.

from a 2021 moose, shot at an odd angle as he turned to go, -06 velocity at ~ 80 yds
165 Interbond after zipping through 3 moose ribs on the near side then deflecting to the off side hitting one rib and travelling through that shoulder to the hide. = 143 grs
I would expect the same from any bonded bullet
