What is the life span of a 25 shot mag for ruger 10/22

They should last a long time in Canada, because you are not allowed to use them.

'The RCMP issued a memo along which they deemed every Ruger 10/22 magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds to be a prohibited device, in direct contravention to one of their past memorandum and to the Firearms Act.'

I have never had one, but folks at the gun club claimed poor reliability with the 25 rounders.

RCMP opinion is not law, and they are wrong anyway. I have worn out some BC Hot Lips mags in the past. Many, many bricks through them to get there. They wear down and the bullets start to feed almost any way but the right way. That's about it. I doubt the Steel lip or BX mags would go in a timeframe that you'd ever have to worry about.

RCMP can deem whatever they want prohibited, they don't make the laws.

The Metal lipped versions last a good long while and are extremely reliable.
The plastic lipped versions, not so great
 
If the handgun is not commonly available,shouldn’t the BX25 now be good?
Well , it should have been good in the first place,but hey…

Actually not really…. I used to have a couple of them with a old like 80s old ruger 10/22 I decided to rid of the gun and mags so I posted it online eventually someone messaged me and we meet up! So he takes the mag and presses the top in a couple times and says there on the Fritz and kaput there good for only one more loading and then they’ll give up… and then proceeded to offer me half of my asking price well I packed it up and took it back home how it’s somewhere across the country doing I dunno what and haven’t heard a word back since! So that made me wonder how many rounds there good for

You cannot tell by pressing down the follower, let alone determine it only has 1 more loading. Just sounds like a cheap skate.

I just add oil and let the oil blow the carbon out when I shoot it. Then wipe the excess oil off. Or clean what I can with the bolt back and mag out.

I owned mine for years and only took the bolt out once.

One if the reasons I no longer do face to face deals.

People try all sorts if bull schitt things to get a lower price.
