HA! You people with your puny LE collections....

mk5wtf.jpg

This mk.5 seems like it has a tale to tell. Looks like its got a G3(?) flash hider and what looks like an attempt to relocate the mag-well perhaps?

I wonder is the Afghan government is aware, or even cares fot that matter. That these things are now quite valuable on the western civilian market, either as whole firearms, as a source of spare parts, or even as DEWATs ...

That's small potatoes to the opium trade.

Why is it that the backwaters have the best Military Museums? Let's hope that corruption raises its opportunistic head and save some of those beauties.

Oh the things I'd give to own that pile of Enfields....

Oh the things I'd do to be legally allowed to own the rest...

*sigh*

this vehicle pictured:

in USSR, they used those for everything, delivering food to school, ambulance, police, army, taxi, and anything else you can think of, that was the only " minivan " built. i see them now on pictures anywhere from africa, to stan to cuba.

"Wash me"?

Same thing I was thinking...:D

It is a shame that all of these are going to be melted down into soup pots...

Well on the upside, at least they won't flood the market and drop the value of my puny LE collection...

Well,

Here is my puny collection. 11 in all. I can't see me getting too many more, a couple of these are going so this may be my peak for Lee Enfield rifles...

Okay, bootm two are sporters, made myself from cut barrel or drilled tapped sporters. One parked, one blued. The parked on is a No5. Nice and light. Above that there is a '43 Longbranch in full wood, matching mag, bolt, reciever.

Next we have some more No4's. Another parked '43 Longbranch, a BSA No 4 in birch, A savage No 4, another parked BSA (okay, I've been on a parking kick).

I had to ge a JC No 5, then we have three No1MkIII*. A BSA, A C-Arrow (barrel, reciever, stock) marked BSA and a Lithgow made in 1917, markings in 1942 and final FTR in 54.

Like I said, about 3 of these are gone so I don't think I'll hit 11 again any time soon.
