So we have had alot of customers asking if they can use the grizz 12.5" rem 870 copy with our stock adaptor and long rail.
As many people have used them with the norinco 14" 870.
The 1st issue was that the gun is a close copy of the 870 but is out of spec, just a small amount in areas like the forend tube, trigger mec safety area.
We have done the changes to the stock adaptor so that the safety on the norincos, and grizz shotguns now clears with no problems.
2nd thing people wanted to know is.
can we use the long rail on the 12.5"
The answer is yes and no.
We cut down a bunch or rails to make them a little shorter and refinished them with Armour Cote matt black epoxy finish.
The is now a few ways to use the long rail on the 12.5"
1.take off the front site and the rail clamp will fit fine.(see pic below)
2. use a ergo/ Falcon railed for end( this is a very short forend)
3. Trim 3/4 of an inch off the front of your standard forend.
We have a few of the shorter rails in stock, but after they are gone we will only be offering the longer rails intill we run another batch or rails, at this time we have lots of rails in stock.
You can allso trim off a small amount from one of our standard rails and refinish the end, the rail is made from 6061 and 7075 T6 heat treated Alum and is anodized.
Refinishing just the end tip of the rail in a a black high heat or epoxy paint is not going to damage the strenght of the rail.
