Vortex Venom Red Dot Sight on mossberg 535

My uncle runs a red dot on his Winchester sxp? He really likes it. Uses it on just about everything. I tried one on my 535, with the rail and the red dot it feels too high for me. Doesn't seem to come up to my shoulder in the right place. I tend to be low and hard into the stock though so take that with a grain of salt.
which red dot did you use?

If I were to practice I imagine I could get used to it. It doesnt feel bad, just.. different. Just a lot of reps shouldering the gun, so I default to my normal technique and find my eye behind the base of the red dot instead of looking through it.
Also, I should say I've only used the red dot for shooting targets when I was setting it up for turkey. I haven't tried shooting anything flying.
But like I said, my uncle uses his for everything. Seems to work pretty well that's why I wanted to try it.

I have the 3 barrel combo
- 24" Rifled Barrel w/Cantilever Scope Base
- 28" All-Purpose Vent Rib Barrel
- 22" Turkey/Field Barrel with Fiber Optic Front Sight
I have run a Vortex Venom on a couple of different shotguns and I love this setup. I have run it on a 590 and currently running one on a VR-66 for 2Gun/3Gun matches, I don’t mind a bead sight but I can’t stand the ghost rings on the VR-66, the Venom is a vast improvement imho. I use the 6moa dot personally. I’ve also used it on a couple of rounds of Trap and it works surprisingly well for me
