I have recently acquired a Rem 700 Mountain Rifle LSS, in 7mm-08--in excellent shape other than the recoil pad is losing it's molecular cohesion. Will Remington replace this? Or does anyone know the part number for a direct fit Limb Saver pad? I have to leave space around it in the safe so it doesn't stick to other rifles that are too close, and I can't really shoot it either or it sticks to my shirt and leaves a nasty residue. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I would doubt there is a direct fit replacement without a little touch up here or there.
Nothing worse than sticky gooey recoil pads, yuck !

Yeah it's like super sticky, black, gooey SNOT. A buddy of mine has a Limb Saver that he thinks might fit, I will get it from him tomorrow and we will see if it fits and looks okay. Will report back with any success, or lack thereof.

I'm sure you are going to have great success and good on your friend for offering up.
Recoil pads aint cheap.

Curious, do you have any idea as to what has caused the recoil pad to disintegrate? Cuz what you're talking about is extremely unusual.
Was there some kind of chemical contact?

The limbsaver website has a chart listing all the rifle models and part numbers for their various direct fit pads.

I ordered a Win. MODEL 70 AIR TECH a few weeks ago.

There is a template you can print out and check the fit.

I don’t believe it is extremely unusual. I have a model seven stock that has the same problem albeit not to that extreme yet.I store all my guns muzzle down so not a problem in the cabinet.
