243 works well and so does a 8 twist 22-250ai. But I lean towards a 25-06 with a 75gr vmax or 257 weatherby with 100gr mono. More than once I've called in cougars and bears. It's nice to have a little more juice in those situations
You left a '3' off the front of 75![]()
What kinetic energy and what fps will your projectile have at that distance and what size animal will you be wounding ?Or a 7.
I just looked up some industry averages published by a major manufacturerOr a 7.
He probably doesn't need a scope either, and can do it 15 minutes before sunrise in a rainstorm shooting into a filed of 5 foot high weedsAw come on, who wouldn't recommend 243 Win for nearly 800 yard deer hunting hahaha
Don't feed...
1800FPS. 755ft/lbs. Sub 1sec TOF. You want to stand in front of it?What kinetic energy and what fps will your projectile have at that distance and what size animal will you be wounding ?
I don't want to stand in front of a 22 LR at 200 yards. I wouldn't want to stand in front of a slingshot with a marble.1800FPS. 755ft/lbs. Sub 1sec TOF. You want to stand in front of it?
Natives take deer with .22LR all the time. I would as well. You do you.I don't want to stand in front of a 22 LR at 200 yards. I wouldn't want to stand in front of a slingshot with a marble.
Doesn't mean I'd chase deer with either.
The ELD-M etc can do the job at that speed but man, talk about a totally suboptimal way to get it there.
Such a stupid question but seems fitting coming from you.1800FPS. 755ft/lbs. Sub 1sec TOF. You want to stand in front of it?
It’s my brand. Leaves the muzzle at 2950 fps running a Berger 105 Hybrid. Want some? You can learn to shoot with it.What brand of ammo is that based on , I'd like to look up the 775 yard specs you mention.
How do you compensate for a 60" drop at 775 then go back to a 150 yard shotIt’s my brand. Leaves the muzzle at 2950 fps running a Berger 105 Hybrid. Want some? You can learn to shoot with it.
By dialing, like a real shooter. How do you compensate for a 60" drop at 775 then go back to a 150 yard shot
On similar lines...... I enjoy my 22 "1/8 sporter Bergara Barrelled 22-250 on Tikka action in a carbon stock. This has knocked many fox out to a bit over 500m with 75 ELDM doing 3150fps MV. 6.5-20x50 Zeiss. If I wanted a dedicated coyote rifle, I'd built a M700 with a 24" factory sporter contour, fast twist 22-250 in a good fiberglass stock topped with a 4-12 or 4.5-14.
Cool scope with 60" or more of elevation adjustmentBy dialing, like a real shooter.
How do you do it?
Huh?Cool scope with 60" or more of elevation adjustment
