You might need miracles for those holy grails.

An original 41 Long Branch sniper does not likely exist. There may be a very few 42s, since the earliest conversions and trials in Canada seemed to use some random and lower serial numbers, but more likely a 43 would be about as early as you might find.

I was just looking at a double digit REL no32mk1 scope today. No rifle though.

I recently sold my LB sniper in order to finance a bigger and cooler holy grail.
 
I have my Holy Grail, a matching Lee Enfield #4 Mk 1 (T). It took me 20 years to find it.

How about just Hitler? Imagine the look on the guys faces if you brought that ####er to the range.

Anyhow my quest has allways been a M3A1 Grease gun. Allways liked the looks of them, be them a POS or not.

I found one of my grails a few years ago when I found my plessey line sight for my MKI Bren that I cant shoot. Buts its pretty neat anyhow.

My second grail would be a M2HB .50 with tripod and all the goodies.

For me it used to be a No4Mk1(T) but I got one a number of years ago. I’ve always wanted the usual Canadian favorites like the LB No4(T) and the Inglis BREN BUT for me the Number one on my list is the Enfield L42 sniper. I got to look at one a friend was selling but was far out of my reach last year. I just sat there slack jawed and drooling for about two hours. As I write this I now wish I had burned a hole in my credit card and bought it.

Don't really see L42 snipers for sale very much. LB no4 either for that matter. I had sent an absentee bid for that last LB sniper at Simpson's but like an idiot, aimed too low for price.

Both are on my grail list.

What Stenny said, any 1942 (or earlier) dated Long Branch "sniper" HAS TO be viewed with EXTREME suspicion.

1943's exist but are uncommon...

The majority of production ocurred in 1944, 1945 & 1946.
