Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

Simply because people are asking for it. Those names are all around, in corporate brochures (HVA for European models models, Tradewinds for North-America) and in old gun publications.... Also, being a collector, it's rather important knowing what you get, because what we're ostly after are the rarer models. Some also try to get as many variations as possible. How would you classify them and know they are genuine if no one knew the model number ?
Why do you think the rifles themselves are never marked with model numbers? Is it possibly because they were known by different model numbers in different markets?

Well, it's hard to say. Like Remington write 700 on their rifles, but they don't say if it's a ADL, CDL, DBL etc... it's up to you to determine it, so it's quite the same here. The action was 1640 and the the trim tells you the rest.

I don't see the 458 model number in the ads...they only refer to it as, "Lightweight Mannlicher Monte Carlo." Maybe in some other ads or catalogs?

This is just a Tradewinds flyer, they were very good at confusing their buyers. For the complete models, you need the full litterature / brochure.

Couple 1640 Husqvarna rifles both are 30-06 one on left as a Pecar scope the other as a Nickle Marburg scope don’t know what model they are for sure.

I liked the look of the stock on this m96. $340 shipped to me, no regrets. Have yet to fire it though.

I think it's a Husqvarna 1600 or 1640 ?!?!
Very slick and light.
Very smooth bolt.

1. The exact markings on the barrel:

Husqvarna Vapenfabriks A.B. Kal 8x57 S

and

Nitro (near the chamber).

2. The serial number is in the 170 000's

Thank you so much

Depends on the stock shape, checkering or absence of, bottom metal material, post more/full pictures.

It’s some form of 1600 “series” gun

I am not real sure about that "thing" on the stock below the front action ring - I do not think that was installed by Husqvarna? Maybe I am in error. I would suspect that one has a 0.323" groove-to-groove barrel - would be the difference between the original 8x57J and the later 8x57JS - in North America, SAAMI "dumbed down" the loading - calls it the 8 mm Mauser - so can shoot "JS" diameter bullets in a "J" bore, I read. More likely some politics involved to show how much better was the USA 30-06 cartridge, versus what was used by Germans - which, since 1905 or so, was 8x57JS.
