Seller says its 1898, but according to my records it should be an antique in Canada with a <350 serial number, right? Can anyone confirm?

Is this one of the only rare 350 legally-recognized antique Husqvarna revolvers?

I've heard they used better metallurgy than the Nagant made ones because Husqvarna made them with Swedish steel + had better heat treating, can anyone confirm?

It is indeed in the antique range, and yes, I would also suggest getting a letter from the RCMP prior to shipping the gun here.

Good luck to anyone bidding, will be nice to have more of the 350 here :)

Is it easier to ship direct to a PO box and pick up across the border, or to get them to ship it to an importer like irunguns even if that costs $200?

The seller is correct, it's made in 1898. The 350 Nagants made in 1897 were ordered by the Norwegian army and had serialnumbers from 5000 - 5350. They were delivered on the 16th of february 1898. Soon after Husqvarna started work on the order from the Swedish army.

1. Shush now. The RCMP accepts the first 350 serials as the NO contract. :)
2. The list you have from KVF is interesting but I would like to see a source... do you have a line with them to maybe see a scan of the original ledgers which I assume they pulled these from? I would not be surprised if those numbers are Norwegian applied as we know the Liege serials did not continue without interruption in Husqvarna - Husqvarna started their own serial range... but it would also mean that by finding guns with that additional NO serial would show all guns with earlier serials to be made before and therefore antique... So have you seen any of the confirmed NO contract guns?

Aha, I see;)

I don't think the KVF site got their info straight from the original ledgers. But the Norwegian revolvers are well documented through the armed forces museum in various books and articles, and they got access to the original archives. This massive book printed by the armed forces museum, describes all firearms used in the Norwegian armed forces after 1859 (that's when the navy adopted a pin fire revolver, the first metallic cartridge gun in the Norwegian armed forces), and also the M/1893 Nagant. http://hanevikvpn.no/produkt/boker/skytevapen-benyttet-av-forsvaret-etter-1859
It's in Norwegian, but you see the Husqvarna serial numbers mentioned. Also there is a close up of a Husqvarna marked Nagant.

Here's an additional article in English which have the Norwegian serial number range from the Belgian Nagant deliveries. You'll see that the range 5000 - 5349 are missing, as those were used by Husqvarna.

There are still quite a few of the Husqvarna made revolvers around. So here is pics of some of these. They got no adittional serial numbers. Only the one applied at Husqvarna.

Fascinating. Thanks for sharing! Not that I haven't seen Husqvarna Nagants before - I have two, one serial 99 deemed antique by the RCMP and another in the 1k range deemed Restricted (https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...nt-antique-serial-range.2209308/post-18571958).

But having asked for a letter for my antique one, the RCMP considers the first 350 antique and will issue a letter to this effect (I confirmed this with the lab) I would strongly recommend getting a RCMP letter if someone buys the one this thread is about and wants to import it. If anyone needs help with the letter, feel free to pm me but it's a straight-forward enough process for these in my experience.
