Remington sportsman 74 auto

So I recently came across a 74 sportsman chambered in 30-06.
I thought it was a smoking deal at $375, the rifle is practically new. Small chip out of the butt plate, and a minor scratch on the stock.

Only issue I have now is trying to find a magazine for it. Would anyone be able to point me in any direction to source a 4-5 round magazine for it?

Model 74 produced 1984 to 1987 budget version of the model 7400 -

Got 7400 & 750, mags are interchangeable readily available from retailers when these rifles were in production.

Seems a model 7600 mag might fit in a 7400 rifle but won't hold the bolt open after the last shot fired (?).

I had a 74 in 30-06 for a short while. It shot vertical strings with just about every ammo weight I tried. Beware.

correct. Bare in mind if its marked both 74 & 76 the 5 round rule applies.

Read somewhere 7600 mag fits 7400 rifles except won't hold bolt open after last shot fired haven't tried this.
