NR G36 from Tactical Imports

Is this worth buying ?
Only you can answer that question. Do you want to spend $8000 on a very rare and unique rifle? If so, then yes, it is worth it. If not, then no, it isn't. You can buy the nearly exact same thing, without the attached rarity, in the form of an SL8 for $2200. Is the fact that this is "real" G36 worth an additional $5800 to you?

Hahaha $10,000 regular price but this unit is so rare and in high demand that we'll take 2k off the top just cause we're good people!!! Hahaha nice try!! Please stop bending Canadians over the barrel!! A quick Google search will show them being 7k new and 6k on sale recently in Canada so maybe double check the price before you buy here!!!!

What do you mean recently?

The SL8 will also have an HK barrel and bolt

Cobbled together from parts kits for sure but they are new parts kits. At least when I disassembled mine they were.

You can source out the other original parts (bolt, barrel) if you look hard enough but expect to pay a pretty penny for them. TI was selling the HK barrel for $3k on the last shipment.

Gunflation.

I think I paid around $6200 for one with 4 mags 3 years ago.

Gucci gun with Gucci price but def worth it if you dig HK stuff.

Cripes. I got the email, went to look (thought I'd pick one up for resale later):

$8k?

lmfao! Nope.

I have the dough, but you can't tell me this is worth it. Gucci BS it is.

Thanks for sanity checking me with your post.

TI has been charging $7 to $8K for their stash of G36 Parts-Kit Rifles for the past several "limited releases". Those in the know, are well aware that exports of said parts-kits ceased with a change to German export laws a couple of years ago, putting an end to the availability of such kits. So TI is drawing off of their original stash for these "new shipments" of parts-kit G36 rifles.

They are what they are - NR G36 Receivers with mis-matched, serial-numbered Trigger Housings. The serial number on the Trigger Housing is not visible when the rifle is assembled, so there is no external evidence of "mismatched" parts. The rest of the parts on the rifle are not numbered. The parts-kit G36s also lack a Proof-House stamp, as they were never proof-fired in Germany following assembly and preceeding export. But to be clear, they are a complete and fully-functioning semi-automatic G36 rifle, albeit with a Walther Barrel and a GSG9 Bolt. Those replacement parts are for the HK Barrel and Bolt, which Germany would not export with the kits because the Barrel and Bolt are considered the "Firearm" under German law.

HK-manufactured G36 rifles are complete unobtanium for our US cousins, so in a way, we should count ourselves lucky that we can have them at all. "Cost" on those parts kits was around $5K IIRC, during the rush towards the end of German kit exports. Add in the cost of a Barrel and aftermarket Bolt and you have the total Dealer Cost for these rifles. TI's mark-up is not all that large when you break it down that way. The genuine, serial numbers-matching HK G36s and UMPs that came into Canada for the movie industry and were subsequently sold on the civilian market were trading for approximately $14K when I lost interest for good a number of years ago. So these are approximately half-price as compared to the real deal examples still floating around the Canadian collectors' market.

Finally, I would note that in the years between TI's releases of the NR G36 parts-kit rifles, I have seen these same rifles re-sell for upwards of $10K due to zero supply and continued demand. Just saying. As a long term investment, they aren't all that bad.....
