Hey, I've been looking everywhere for a stainless steel or the black folding stock from butler creek for my 10/22. Anyone know where i can buy one? also does anyone know if it will change the classification of my 10/22 it has an 18 1/2" barrel. I want to keep it as non restricted. Also how good are these stocks and how much are they around?

The butler creek folders aren't the fanciest stocks in the world. If you don't plan on using your 10/22 that much, they do the trick.

However, I would personally recommend spending a bit more dough on something with a bit more quality.

I think the BC folder is very tough, Ill sell you mine cause i just got a used rhineland slider and its way nice. The BC folder is way better than ramline.

I think the Butler Creek folders for the Ruger 10/22 are great - lock up nice and tight.

www.combatstocks.com has them for only $68.

Also, Brownell's out of the US has them for $105 and $110 US Stainless US and they ship to Canada.

Good luck finding one used - they just don't seem to exist (which is a good sign).

A regular Ruger 10/22 is legal with the folder.

I tried it on my 10/22 and ended up selling it to another CGN member because I didn't like it. Why? While the folding stock looks kinf of cool, the folding wire butt makes a good cheek weld impossible and therefore it's not great for accurate shooting.

I ended up getting a Tapco T-6 stock...still looks cool, but better for shooting.

I love mine (thanks Allstone) folded up it fits in my quad box now and is all ways along for the ride. They are the cats ass during chicken season and I consider it to be a hell of a tool.

You're welcome! I'm glad it went to someone who loves it and makes good use out of it. Like I said when you bought it, it was just sitting in the closet after a few times shooting it in the range. :)
