My daughter had her first deer hunt Friday night. She's only 6 but seeing the heart break she felt when I couldn't get a shot at the monster buck that appeared I think she's hooked.
We were in a ground blind her my wife and I with a crossbow. At least she saw one. She can't wait to shoot one

That is such a Great age for the youth to be able to do this kind of hunting with their parents or guardians !! It's 16 here in NS and in 2014 my youngest daughter got to do this too, along with her brother...memories, that's all we'll ever take with us when we leave this place...if we're lucky enuff to !

Reminded me of a hunt over 40 yrs ago with my oldest daughter( she was 4 at the time) after a couple hrs sitting at a fields edge watching some does but waiting for "the big guy" she commented "dad Im hungry , maybe you should shoot a deer". How are we going to cook it I asked her..."you could just light a fire in the grass" ...at 4 ,she had it all figured out for herself.
That conversation is still vivid in my memory as the day it happened.
