reform 30/378 weatherby to 338/378 weatherby

Anybody done it? Can i just take the 30/378 brass and stick it in a 338/378 die and re size or is there an intermediat step to get the 30 cal bress to accept the 338 bullet?

Done it on 100 pieces of brass. I had zero problems.

I've done 100 -300 RUM to 338 Imperial Mag ...BUT...I made an expander so the neck is supported during the process.
would recommend lubing the inside...dry graphite.
Made this from a 7/8-14 bolt & use it in my press...Very Slick

I put imperial sizing wax in the neck and ran them through my 338/378 FL die.

Load 'em up with some old 30 cal bullets chamber them in the 338-378 and pull the trigger...........perfect brass every time, and no I'm not kidding...........I do this all the time and you get much more uniform and concentric necks than you do running them over a mandrel or expander ball.

Thanks for the info having a hard time finding 338/378 but not so hard to find 30/378. Will pick up a box at WholeSale Sports in Prince George.

prophet river has a metric ton of 338-378 brass. Half the price of thr 30-378 (not sure why the 30 cal is almost double)

.458 to .510 with out anneal. Non issue

Put a dab of imperial sizing wax on a q tip and lube the inside of the necks and then just run it into the 338-378 sizing die. No fuss, no bother. - dan

The .30-378 is a 50 ct box, vs 20 ct for the .338-378.....
