Hey Guys; I'll start...

I hunt with two other deer hunters during rifle season & we have a rule that...

When you get out of your tree stand, you wear a headlamp walking out.

What rules do you guys have in your hunt groups/camps?

Cheers
Jay

If you hear 3 shots in quick succession, start looking for the person or come help, either an emergency, or you can help track / butcher. this was back in South Africa, before cell phones, 2 way radios etc.

We now have some pre-arranged times, we'll try communicate, and also if you hear a shot, standby for some comms.

We don't have real rules. Don't be a jackass I guess.

It's been a long time since I hunted with anyone that I didn't like and respect. Everyone does their share of tasks.
Hahahaha! Right!

I hunted/camped with a fellow who never washed a dish, never made a meal, left the RV door open like a child and was like looking after a child. Needless to say, one trip was enough for me. LOL

Having everyone share on the camp tasks is awesome. How does one find these great camp partners though?......:(

You only find these things out once you are already on that planned out hunting trip. Ooooooops, it's too late then.....:)

Not camp but work, we started using satellite text on the 14? And up iPhones works great when cell service is nonexistent (better, cheaper, easier than a sat phone(s))

it's sort of like shooting a big buck. You won't get a big one if you keep shooting small ones and you won't find good hunting partners if you don't ignore requests from idiots.

We’ve never really had firm rules and it seems to work out. There was a brief period where the rule was every gun was to be loaded mag with an empty chamber. Reasoning was that the best way to ensure that people treated all guns like they were loaded was knowing damn well they all were. That was a long time ago and wilderness setting.

That's how we keep our rifles in camp- basically any tent or wilderness cabin situation.

We've all been hunting together for years so no real rules other than: First one up builds a fire in the stove and no matter who cooks the meal and no matter how bad it is, it's always "just the way we like it".
Mind you, the meals are usually pretty damned good anyway.
