357 mag brass works too and is a little more common. Case is a hair shorter but it cycles just fine in my rifle.Not the easiest solution but if you can find .357 Maximum cases it will work. Quite easy if you have a small lathe but could also be done using a mounted drill.
From "The Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions"
- make from .357 Maximum brass
- turn rim to .407 diameter. If necessary thin rim from the front.
- cut new extractor groove
- trim to 1.38"
- full length size
- chamfer
