Put Optic Handguard for 81M 0n 81SA?

Anyone know if modifications can be made to make M-LOK handguard for Type81 M fit Type81 SA? Modifications by owner or shops specializing in doing it?

I can't answer your question, but why not just get a hand guard specifically made for the SA?

I have the first type “cheese grater” optic hand guard that came out for the SA. Problem is you have to re-zero when you disassemble to clean gas system after shooting corrosive ammo. aFAIK, this is not the case with later optic hand guards.

The M-Loc hand guard requires the top rail to come off to get at the piston, piston return spring and the gas regulator.
If an optic is mounted on this top rail, taking it off and mounting it back on will cause some shift in zero.

Tactical imports sells a version of the m-lock handguard for the M/lmg and for the SA/SE. So get the one that fits your model.

From what I can determine they have the one for 81M now in stock but not any for 81SA, so wondering how big of a stretch is it to get the 81 M handguard to fit an 81SA.
