DCRA National Service Conditions Championship will rise from the dead in 2025.
Planning is underway
Planning is underway
Planning has NSCC also in Borden. With the ORA Provincials and the CFRC being held back to back in Borden again this year, will the NSCC be held in Borden also?
Back in 2020 I bought a Ruger American to compete with. Worst case I will be running that. After the recent OIC i doubt that many civilian shooters will be competitive with bolt actions.
Pity that.
Yes, when those were service rifles. They are not currently. The whole point of the DCRA was to make civilians competent with modern day military firearms. It was established by an act of Parliament.SR(a) was shot for generations with bolt action service rifles.
The current government hates competent people.Yes, when those were service rifles. They are not currently. The whole point of the DCRA was to make civilians competent with modern day military firearms. It was established by an act of Parliament.
Thank you, I have read the rules, match description. Was hoping to hear about what most guys run, for mag pouches, belts, how many mags etc? Here's the DCRA webpage listing links to the rules and match info for the NSCC.

Did the same. I refuse to let these sad little fanatics and their stupid rules ruin my fun.Back in 2020 I bought a Ruger American to compete with. Worst case I will be running that.
Under the older set of rules where "snap" matches called for 1 shot per target exposure, and bolt actions could start in position for rapid fire, bolt actions were on a reasonably equal footing. Under the rules of the last few years (last shot 2019), two shots per timed exposure give semi-autos a distinct advantage. After the recent OIC i doubt that many civilian shooters will be competitive with bolt actions.

Since bolt actions stopped being service rifles in the 40s, 50s and 60s keeping them competitive should be low down on the list of priorities for match construction. Years back the a US had sniper match stage with timed room clearing. The guys running M110s were at a real advantage over losers like me running a stupid M24. When clearing a room they would have really had that advantage so the match was in my opinion reasonable. The enemy will give no advantages.Under the older set of rules where "snap" matches called for 1 shot per target exposure, and bolt actions could start in position for rapid fire, bolt actions were on a reasonably equal footing.
