BCL Grizzly just slipped on to the list

my retirement plans had included surviving financially by slowly selling off my substantial handgun collection but now I am forced to have to cut corners to make ends meet.

I can't afford to buy any of these newer cool rifles that get banned every time the poly girls act up.....I wish
Yikes, you got some bad advice regarding your golden years financial well being.

But I hear you on buying rifles today that will likely be on the chopping block in 90 days.

2020 OIC had enough rumour mill chatter ahead of time that I sold my AR's, and a the others that were on the list of possibilities.

That was an easy choice to make for me but thought of as an unpopular move by many.

I'm stuck this time with 4 OIC guns, mags, ammo and accessories.

There wasn't much lead up rumor chatter that I put faith in.

I've started listing on gun/post the next likely round of OIC guns.

It's a shame really there is some nice seldom used firearms in there.

The kids say sell them, they have what they need.

So off go the SKS's at a ridiculous price along with the semi 12 gauges, semi 22's, and a couple of BAR'S and a Rem. 7400

I didn't think I'd see a gun free Canada in my lifetime, but it could be close.

I don't think Pierre will do anything gun related until his last year in office and use that issue if he needs a few more votes to win his second term.

I don't think he needs gun owner votes for 2025.
It should be an easy win.

Canada is in ruins and its federal politics has become a laughing stock for the world to see

Looks like those sneaks F%#@S just slipped the BCL Grizzly onto the new published list and now its Prohibited!!
Oh so your impression was that because it wasnt on the list on Dec 6, it was magically immune to prohibition on Dec 7?
What were you expecting exactly for you to be using two exclamation marks here?

Also not exactly smart posting on a public source bragging about how something got overlooked. If you don't think CGN and ####### etc are not being monitored I have some land to sell you. Loose lips sink ships
Says the person that posted where and who they work for. Then conducted themselves extremely poorly on a internet forum under their employer name. That leaves a trail back to who they are. Oops.

Think before you speak.
Merry Christmas.

I'm just going to say the FRT is not the law and leave it there.

Indeed, this feels a LOT like another very popular Canadian made firearm that was quasi banned in exactly the same way in 2020.

What is interesting about it is that it has not been specifically named in either OIC (but rather it is banned only by FRT).

The word "Variant" covers it

Maybe, more like a realist. BTW there a difference between refugee and immigrant however in this political climate the lines are getting blurred. I envy the folks on here that made the move stateside and post de-nuetering their pinned AR mags and enjoying freedom again. I met a lot of Yanks and all of them say if your a family loving gun toting hard working stiff, come on down the water is warm, however if your a blue hair screaming liberal stay the #### home:) I have a brother in the Carolinas and cousins in New Hampshire so who knows. Hopefully PP can win big and ease the pain. YMMV

This is where I am at. Hoping for improvement but should that not materialize then I will find an option that works.

I look at it as I can move to somewhere where their values align with mine (which is what I thought I had done already but Trudeau and his band of idealogical donkeys f&cked that up), I will also say that financially it might be a good move too. International moves are not to be taken lightly (wouldn't be my first....) but if Canada does not change course I fail to see how hanging in there when my rights are slowly getting stripped away is the right thing to do. Life is too short.

BCL grizzly is definitely an ar180 variant so variant covers it on this OIC, the modern sporter was not considered an ar15 variant till the RCMP broke the rules and deleted and then added comments on the frt stating that it was an ar15 variant. So the modern sporter was never properly prohibited by oic, but I would argue that the grizzly was.

I agree with everything in bold.

Make no mistake, EVERY SINGLE FIREARM is ultimately going to be on the list. They are currently going after everything scary looking (to them) and then it will be ALL semi autos. Then the bolt actions based on a semi receiver will be banned because, you know, scary. Poly has already stated they think ALL magazines should be banned, because someone COULD change them to higher capacity. They have explicitly stated that lever actions with tube magazine should have the tubes cut, and next will be the lever actions themselves. Bolt actions will be next--the only reason the Lee Enfield was exempted from magazine restrictions back in C68 was because there were millions of them, they hadn't been used in a mass shooting, and a lot of First Nations and Metis used them, still do. For anyone who even thinks their double barrel side x side shotgun is safe, think again. The Liberal agenda which was written down a few decades ago (for those who are interested) is banning private ownership of all firearms. Subsistence hunters might be exempt but I wouldn't bet on it. If these mother ####ers get in again, or if the CPC goes back on their word, then gun ownership of all kinds (except minority gang bangers) will be at an end. And don't forget ammunition--even if you don't ban the guns, if you ban certain types of ammunition, and place strict restrictions on how much anyone can own, then any guns left are pretty much wall hangers. This is death by OIC by a government which is dictatorial and has a deep agenda.

Incidentally, I see they are talking about maybe needing conscription because of poor enrollment in the military. Like, what do they expect--the Libs under Sock Boy (and don't think Freeland is any better) have spent their time since 2015 making all young people ashamed of Canada and ashamed to be Canadian, so why would anyone want to serve???? This is a sad situation for this once great country, which is now an international laughing stock.
