Hi All,

my brother and I are looking for a hunting party to help show us the ropes. Neither of us have hunted before, but we are both dying to get into it.

Whether its big-bore hunting up north, or deer season and small game around South-western Ontario, we're game (not literally)

Drop me a pm if your interested.

Thanks,

You are new here, lets get to know you eh?

Nothing nasty, just that in five posts, two of them above, you can hardly be expected to be invited to a guys deer camp.
Camp members become like family, and no one wants to introduce a .. well you know, to screw that up.

Actually, I've had a hard time to find new members to our moose hunting group.
I'd been posting invitation messages in at least 4-5 hunting forums and got no replies until I posted on CGN.
So, there's hope. ;)

Looking for a hunting party

Thanks for the feedback all,

A short introduction, my brother and I got into shooting a couple years ago (my brother was about a year ago) and we are now starting to express a real interest in hunting. I am 25 and my brother is 26, we live in and around the Woodstock area (in between Toronto and London) and are looking for maybe a deer or moose hunting party up north. We are both extremely safety cautious are take hunting safety very seriously. If you are looking for a couple guys, gimme a shout, maybe we can figure something out.

Thanks again to all

Maybe ask to get out small game hunting, shoot some coyotes or ground hogs with a few of the guys down south and go from there. It is a lot easier to meet someone and hunt for a day than to trust someone for a week or more in the middle of nowhere. Every new group member in our deer group has hunted with us before coming up for the week. As for our group, we are booked up every year, I have a couple friends I want to bring in and it is iffy trying to find a bunk for myself let alone another guy.

Good luck, but try some shooting or small game hunting first.

Welcome to the board. Do you and your brother belong to a gun club? There are a couple of good one near you. It's a good place to meet some fellow hunters and get a chance to talk about and try some different equipment. Go to a few organized shoots and get to know some of the hunters. Soon invitations will follow.
Good luck.

I have a hard time finding people to hunt with as well. I spend most of my time doing it alone.

Local gun clubs are a good place to start. Any volunteer groups like with the OFAH or DU are good groups to meet like minded people and maybe get some invites.

What about me?

Dave.

Me thinks that 'some' guys may be worried that you will show them up. Wait for the right group and you will have a great time:):):)

Usually its the wives that have the issue. The guys I have hunted with dont mind me showing them up. They think its great. Plus they have someone to cook for them :dancingbanana:

Most of the women I know that hunt wont go anywhere without there husband. So there goes a womens week out camping.

Nope most guys dont want a girl around camp.

Well, I've never thought about that. I guess, that's a valid point because we gradually change our minds when it's too late, after being locked up in camp for a couple of days. :D :D :D
Seriously, it must be very difficult finding a group who will "adopt a girl". :(

Most hunting guys I know are the best cooks ever! Actually most guys are great cooks.. I am blessed with cooking skills thanks to my dad :)

With hunting.. it's usually me and the guys.. ( they hate when I can out drink them) :D but I'm still up early with the water on for coffee:dancingbanana:
