What else you going to do with it sit on chair hold it and watch hunting videos you bought it to use it rifle are tools if you don't use them they should be left at the store lololHello
3 months ago, I bought a Winchester 70 30-06 super grade Maple.
I went deer hunting in November and I realize that I am too afraid of damaging it.
Has it ever happened to you to almost regret it because you don't want to damage it!! Or is it too bad, it will be part of the history of the rifle?

Absolutely gorgeous! Those were hours and dollars very well spent.Coming from someone who put about 200 hours into a $1600 walnut blank for his mountain rifle, I’m on the side of using, but not abusing. That maple model 70 would look and feel stellar in the field!
I’ll sometimes pack one of those rain slick covers in bad weather if I’m not expecting to bump an animal.
Neo, we need to see close ups of that rifle!View attachment 875998
Many years ago, I came to appreciate how beautiful well made firearms become after they've seen a lifetime of use in the field and actually show it. It's no different than the way experience shapes the hunter himself, with every grey hair, wrinkle, and healed scar telling a part of the story of a life well lived. If it was made as a hunting rifle, it should be used as one. Especially, in this case, the custom British sporting style rifle I asked Ralf Martini to make for me on an Argentine Mauser action chambered in .300 H&H. When I'm gone, I very much hope that one of my kids will still be hunting with it, and eventually one of their kids too.
Holy hell that Lee is nice. Like beyond. All these made thier way to hunting clients

That’s a beauty! Thanks for posting those. Here you go. A few of them are with the metal still in-the-white before blueing which I think shows the quality of the metal work a bit better in pics. In person, it's another story

Saying a rifle is too pretty to hunt with is akin to saying a woman is too beautiful to kiss. My condolences to those who think either of those statements is true.IMO there is no such thing as too pretty to hunt with. Too expensive to hunt with MAYBE, especially if I had plans to flip the gun in the future or bought it as an investment or something.... But never too pretty.
