Apex Rocky Mountain Challenge 2 Day PRS Match - Jul 13-14 Calgary, AB

I keep getting 'link has expired' when I get the confirmation email. Just me or anybody else getting stuffed? Also the payment tab says 'club registration not set up' or something like that. Thanks all.

I’m guessing it has something to do with Impact vs Practiscore. Sounds like there are a few bugs to work out of Impact (at least that was the case for the match I was at a few weeks ago)? For updates and proper links for registration I’d check Apex and PRS websites. But if you follow them on socials (Apex RMC) you’ll know pretty quick when the registration links are valid.

Last years match was a really great time. There was a lot of pissing and moaning about certain things, but if I had the chance to shoot the exact same match again I would. I’m sure 2025 match will be even better!

Sounds great, appreciate the thoughts on this. I was definitely jumping the gun a bit, going to be in Mexico when registration opens as per Precision Rifle Series link on their 2025 Bolt series schedule, but I suppose we wouldn't see 200 slots fill right away ( I hope...... ).

Will be heading out to the BTSA Steel Challenge tomorrow in K Country as a guest. Hopefully meet some people from this forum.

Hi Guys I am interested in going to this 2025 event. I've never shot a PRS match before but do have experience behind the weapon system. Can beginners enter ? Approximately how many rounds for the event ? Can i guy enter by himself or you need a squad ?. I can't seem to find any contact information with Apex. Thanks

Beginners are definitely welcome (and encouraged)! Don’t be intimidated because it’s a “Pro Series Qualifier”. There will be some bigger names at this match and it will be competitive but it will also be super fun.

Usually for 2 day matches the round count is 180-220. Most people bring at least 250 (usually more) for zeroing (more on that below) and/or stage re-shoots.

You register for a match on your own and then you can select a squad to join after (sometimes they open the match to squadding at the time of registration, other times they don’t allow squadding until a certain time prior to the match). If you don’t know anyone in the community and not sure which squad to join, feel free to send me a DM and I can point you toward my squad if you want. Right now PRS is straddling between Practiscore and Impact Scoring for registration. The Apex RMC match is using Impact Scoring (make an account, download the app and register through the app - simpler than Practiscore). I imagine by 2026 most people will migrate away from Practiscore to Impact.

Here’s the typical timeline for a match:
-Register (opens several months in advance)
-Squad (when it’s available - Match Directors will notify all those registered when it opens)
-Friday of match weekend: afternoon is open for check-in (pick up your swag!) and zero confirmation. There’s also usually a chance to make sure your gear is dialed in to hit targets out to distance. Always a good idea to take advantage of this, especially if you are travelling to the match.

-Saturday: check in if you couldn’t make Friday (usually an hour before safety brief), safety briefs are usually 8-8:30am. (I think it’s wise to plan on being at least 30 min early). Match starting shortly after. Usually finished the first day by mid/late afternoon.

-Sunday: go directly to your first stage of that day with your squad. Range usually goes hot around 8ish. Arrive early to get your stuff together. Day usually wraps up around early afternoon. Awards banquet/ceremony to follow which usually wraps up a couple of hours after the match. Don’t skip out on the awards portion even you think you had an embarrassing performance, there are usually deep prize tables at these matches and even if you finish near the bottom you might be surprised what goodies you can pull from the table.

Will there be another
Do you mean will there be another Apex RMC or just another match? I’m assuming the Apex RMC will be an annual thing unless something drastic happens.

Not to derail the thread but there are other matches in AB, SK, BC, MB (for the western part of the country). One of the biggest challenges for new shooters is actually trying to find the bloody matches - it’s like a prohibition era speakeasy; hard to find but once you get plugged in it’s pretty easy to keep tabs on. Impact Scoring will simplify this but Match Directors need to use it. Practiscore is a bit of a nightmare to search for matches.

Awesome ! Thank you for the info. I am deffs going to enter. I'm trying to get my friend to join but he is being flakey so it probably will just be myself.
