- In lalaland, that is Ottawa.
This was the first firearm that I bought with my own money. I got it used about 1942. In the Stoeger catalog of 1939, it listed at $125 US.
I wish that I had a $ for every chuck that this rifle killed, all head shots out to 100 yds.
In later years, when I became interested in .22 three postion shooting, the rifle was outclassed by the Anschus amd Win. 52. But it is still a beautiful rifle and extrememly accurate.
This will probably be a rifle that I die with.
But for now, the good Lord willing, I will have a a few more seasons of enjoying it.
The front sight has a flat top post and with a flip, changes to an aperature.
On the right side of the action, there is a bolt which may be turned out with a coin and the whole action drops out. The trigger, although not a set, is extremely fine.
The tang sight is a vernier for windage and elevation. In using this rear sight as a kid, I learned how to use a peep properly, master right eye and left eye left open.
