New Arrival: SRM Arms M1216 Semi Auto Shotgun w/ Detachable Revolving Magazine!

I thought the firearm act prohibits

Revolving Magazines

From its FRT notes "this rotary cartridge magazine for this firearm in all capacities is a "Prohibited Device" unless reduced to five (5) shots or less."

Its not specifically mentioned in the law but the RCMP considers multitube rotary magazines to be one magazine and have to be pinned to 5 rounds total for the entire assembly (for semi-auto's)

Same deal with the Tavor-12 but I dont think that one ever got any interest from importers. (Also there was the X-Rail? add-on system same deal there)

The magazine is 4 tubes of 4 shots each.
Can you explain how it is pinned?
is it -
1 full tube, 1 tube with a single shot, and two tubes disabled?
or 1 tube pinned to 2, and the other tubes all pinned to 1?
or something else?

I would think that because it uses a revolving mag tube system, there would have to be a round in each tube in order to fire in succession. So I'm inferring that it is one in the chamber and one in each of the 4 tubes for 5 rounds total.a

If that is the case, then novelty aside I don't see any advantage to this system at the cost of increased bulk, weight (4 tubes vice 1) and potential mechanical failure (revolving mag tube system).

I watched a Hickock45 review of it ; in a standard unpinned configuration, the shotgun fires 4 rounds of one tube in semi-auto, then the operator needs to manually turn the cylinder for the shotgun to load the first round of the next tube. rinse repeat.

Hence my question on how its pinned.
Best case scenario, you get to fire 4 shots in semi-auto and get your last shot from a manual turn of the cylinder.
Worst case scenario, the pinning effectively makes it a $4k pump action.

Ah, seen. I mistakenly thought that the Mag Tube automatically revolved like the cylinder on a revolver with each press of the double-action trigger. Now that I understand the manual operation of the tubes, I understand your question....

Better off buying a Keltec

Hey Rangeview, bumping this up, please share answer, thank you

Same here. Cool IDEA, but with our magazine restrictions it just doesn't make any sense, even if the price was half what it is.

Roller delay, detachable mag tube 12ga? How easily can the rotary tubes be separated from the part that attaches the tubes to the firearm?
