Anyone familiar with is ammo, case is stamped inert are these just practice or is it live ammo?

I'm being offered some for trade but don't need it if it's inert.

CARTRIDGES FOR WEAPONS INERT PROJECTILE or CARTRIDGES SMALL ARMS is the proper shipping name for Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act. Below the proper shipping name is UN0012 and the 1.4S which are also required under TDG Regs. The orange 1.4S label indicates it is Class 1 dangerous goods - ammunition and explosives.

It is live, soft point .303. Wish I had some of that laying around.

The top number with the dashes in it is the NSN - nato stock #
and the very bottom number is the IVI lot # of that particular ammo.

NEQ = Net explosive quanitity

If you asked someone in the CAF that "actually paid attention to the UAR - Unit ammo rep course" they should be able to decipher the bottom right.

Evidently I did not!

if it's a good price, don't ask questions and hop on it! I know I would
I haven't seen it yet, only got the pic I posted but he wants $3 per round on trade which I feel is high but will see how it goes.
Wanted to be sure it was live before making a deal.

Thanks for the input.

that's a little steep I think, that's right around factory hunting ammo, this does have the allure of being unique and fairly rare, I would pay that for 1 box just for my collection to say I had a box of ranger ammo. I wouldn't pay that for it all, not saying he wouldn't get what he's asking for it, after all it is ammo that "shouldnt" be available to sell at all.

Rangers were issued both FMJ and SP ammunition, the latter for hunting.
When the No. 4 rifles became obsolete, they were made available to Rangers. I expect the .303 ammunition was made available as well.
