About a year ago, I took a chance, buddy had listed here 'Complete/minus frame' Ruger Single Six .22lr'. I think it's an older one..but low & behold, the Cylinder fits/works Perfectly in my newer Ruger Wrangler. {last Restricted b4 the ban!!} Then I bought some other various parts, I think off the same guy later on, including a Ruger .22 Magnum cylinder, hoping to get lucky, but No Go, didn't fit.Interesting. I wonder why they say you can't use a Super Wrangler cylinder in an old wrangler then... That would be a real nice addition to my Wrangler if its only lawyer talk and not actually incompatible...
There is a couple threads on USA forums I've found, of people converting the newer / .22 'only' Wrangler to Magnum, by reaming just the cylinder.
I'll find them again & link them if you like. Basically, what I was told is Ruger stopped making .22 only' Single Sixes. All their barrels are the .224 now, so, there was no need to ramp up costs on the cheaper Wrangler, so they used the same tooling./set up.{.224}
I only know the Wranglers that are more recent..they came out maybe 5 years back or so? There is older ones too? Still, pretty weird/lucky, that one old cylinder actually fits/works perfectly.
