So I think I'm getting the gremlin.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

So whenever I pull the bolt carrier back and let the bolt slide forward (under control) the carrier will get stuck about halfway but it doesn't do this all the time. When it does get stuck, the carrier will continue forward if I push the trigger forward or pull it back. It's almost like the carrier is getting stuck on something in the trigger mech. I can also get rid of the problem by keeping the trigger pressed forward while cycling the action under control.

There is no problem when I pull back and release the carrier normally (not under control).

It's my understanding that people will send their CZ858s to Wolverine to have them repaired, but what about people who did not purchase theirs from Wolverine?

They aren't made to be babied - riding the carrier forward slows it down, and it can't overcome all the friction from the various parts it contacts. If I remember correctly it needs to engage the sear and strip a cartridge, as well as overcome the friction caused by somewhat open tolerances (needed when it gets dirty).

I understand the gremlin applies to it firing out of battery or F/A unintentionally because the disruptor (or whatever it's called) that is attached to the trigger group to stop it from going F/A gets worn and needs to be replaced with the beefier 2nd version.

Its not the gremlin, if you put the rifle on "safe" it wont do it either and the action will not get hung up. With the VZ58 you need to let that bolt fly to overcome the (trip lever ?????) in the receiver.

The gremlin is a different problem.

The "Gremlin" applies to the striker not catching the sear and/or the sear not reseting as the next round is chambered, leaving the gun un-cocked. This will not lead to firing out of battery or unintentional F/A.

the gremlin is caused by the disconnector failing to move downward enough to release sear and reset trigger. the underlying cause of the gremlin is the disconnector is not long enough to be pushed down by carrier. You are describing the opposite problem the disconnector is snagging the carrier when you ride it forward. This can be a safety issue but usually is not ride the carrier forward with downward pressure on it, if the trigger is pulled and the sear releases it is a safety issue and the disconnector must be filed to fit. If you cant cause carrier to pull trigger, then you have exactly what you want.

gremlin 2

When it does get stuck, the carrier will continue forward if I push the trigger forward or pull it back.

this is a common problem with weak trigger spring or missing trigger spring.

without the carrier in place , can you still move the trigger forward? it shouldnt, if it does you got weak trigger spring , have it replaced .

also grease the carrier ramp where it touches the sear disconnect.
