Anyone huntins with 20 ga sabot slugs?

The options with the big names will do just fine out to 100-125m. Took a coyote with a rifled 870 20g at around 80m, it jumped a foot in the air and hit the ground dead.

About half of our group use 20's and they seem to kill deer just as well as my 12. We have had kills out to about 150 yards so your son should be fine with both species at 100yards.

Set "buddy" and his wife up with a pair of Remington 870 cantilever slug guns last fall with 1-4 Bushnells on them both.
20ga. Remington Core-Lokt Ultras.
Dead deer, dead deer.
They're happy. :D
 
We have a guy in our group that shoots an 11-87 in 20ga. (with sabots). Works very well from what I have seen on Deer, and he also uses it on black bear.
 
i have heard that the ballistics on the 20 gauge and the 12 gauge with sabot slugs are very similar and typically the 20 has much less recoil. does anyone know if this is true?
 
20ga slugger

I just bought this Mossberg last fall, it's a fully rifled, cantilever, ported bbl. I'm shooting slug reloads (Lyman sabot slug mould) out of it with good results. The lower recoil is a bonus over my 12ga slugs. Like "Brutus" suggested, click onto http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/index.php
