Hello sirs, hypothetically speaking where would one aquire stock parts and the fore end cap for the older 20" Norinco ARs?
Oh yeah I forgot CGN has an EE its been a while since ive logged on lolPlace an add on the equipment exchange, someone ought to have that in their parts bin.
Yup it is a passion project of mine. I call a bunch of gun shops in Canada every few years and they just tell me to use CGN now. Apparently CanadaAmmo was sitting on hundreds of sets before they closed. I was under the impression the 20" CQ was very common up there but I guess I was wrong. The 'factory' stuff was mehh at best, also has a funny' shaped stock. Mine has {complete} A2 furniture .. heck, if yours is naked, why not go for those nice wood sets ? ~ Are you in Utah?
Not sure if/ we 'allowed' to ship AR parts across the border? Got to be a ton to firearm shops around you, with A1/A2 sets.
I'd like to get the old Triangle A1 set..when I can bring 'er out to the range again.
I'll post a pic of mine when I get home.
P.S EDIT lol I seen your old posts now. Looks like you WANT those specific Norinco parts. I get it..I guess.![]()
They weren't super common, the original ones with the bluish paint and Minden stamped in the lowers used to pop up every once in a while. Later on there were a bunch imported that were similar to the old CQ311's but they had a more normal looking A2 stock & pistol grip, still had the funny handguards though, I still have several of them, but no spare pistol grips/butstocks.Yup it is a passion project of mine. Interestingly there is a company down here doing clone Norinco lowers. View attachment 894454
Usually how things go. Someones trash is someone elses treausre!Certainly a few of them up here but most people ditched the ugly stocks. Now they’re collectible, go figure.
Kinda funny, most Canadians ive spoken to say the same thing. Seems like the handguards were the most common thing to get swapped out on the 20 inch guns. Out of all the stock parts the ribbed for your pleasure handguards seem to be the most common item to find. Figured itd be the revolver style grip out of all of it.They weren't super common, the original ones with the bluish paint and Minden stamped in the lowers used to pop up every once in a while. Hey, nice rifle
Thank you & Thank you again! I finally got this thing 99% done. Added a few more US parts that Norinco cloned and put in the later CQ and CQ-A. Need to stamp the last 4 of the SN unto the upper and have it all reanodized or enameled and this 1st clone will be done.Hey, nice rifle![]()
Thats basically the reason it caught my eye. Very ugly and down here very hard to find!Great rifles, but the furniture... the stock wasn't terrible, but I tossed that weird curved grip and the ribbed handguard in the trash a day or two after I bought the rifle. So very, very ugly! To each their own, I guess...
I didnt even know you guys could get SP1s up there! Sad to hearSure wish I'd not sold mine.
Sold it to afford an SP1 which I also sold later on

Used to be able to get any kind of AR-15 until Trudeau ruined it May 1st, 2020 and banned them all.I didnt even know you guys could get SP1s up there! Sad to hear![]()
Oh really? I thought it was just the Colt Canada and Norinco Stuff. Interesting.Used to be able to get any kind of AR-15 until Trudeau ruined it May 1st, 2020 and banned them all.
Did they ship rifle length CQ-As? Never seen one of those before!I found these way at the bottom of the parts bin just now...both sets from Norinco's...one off a 311 the other off of a CQA.

Can’t say for sure…could have been a 311 upper on a CQA lower…the lower was definitely a CQA…Bought it second hand so who knows…I’ve only owned 3, these 2 and a 14.5” CQA so not an expert.Did they ship rifle length CQ-As? Never seen one of those before!
