Colt Canada Carry Handle

Hi

If anyone is desperate for one of these, i have one extra that i don't use (i got it in its storage plastic bag which i sadly don't have anymore. I'm personnally looking for a Triad in unused condition so perhaps a trade could be done (i also have 2 used triad to trade if anyone is looking for one).

Best regards

Vincent

Edit : just to be clear, i'm not after cash, all I have is for trade

;)

sorry for reviving an old thread. But I have one of these DIS handles with no forge code and trying to determine if it is legit. Does yours have a CAGE code at least?

these are probably pre cage code. They also used to have big diemaco D logo on shooter's side.
This one I have also uses aluminum speed knobs and an aluminum clamp, which made me think airsoft. It seems well made though

Yeah the DIS (A1) usually had the big Devtek D on the back face, and plastic thumb knows like the original Elcan C79.
It makes sense that Colt Canada would not make them with the Devtek, though. With the lawsuit and buyout and all. I’m still thinking this could be legit. Also realized my carry handle with the Devtek has an aluminum clamp as well. So the only difference is the finish and the aluminum knobs

Ya know, I didn't even consider that CC would still be producing the DIS, vs just making the ADIS and rear sight post.

Does not look legit to me. Colour/finish is wrong, and while the later CC made ones omit the Devtec "D" on the rear, normally you can still clearly see the outline in the forging where it used to be. The newer ones also have the CC cage code (2C085) marked on the top. Yours also appears to have the aperture mounted backwards or is the wrong type. Originals are typically a lot rougher finished that yours, typically you can see lots of markings left from being forged, where yours is pretty smooth.

And to answer the mystery, why this thread was started back in 2017 regarding bottoming out the front sight in the FSB.
While Canada was first to introduce a flat top upper (Weaver), when the US introduced the flat top upper they also matched it up with their new "F" marked FSB which was a bit taller. Diemaco/CC never changed the height on their FSB, as such the DIS was made for the lower/original FSB. If anyone has tried to zero a aftermarket rear sight on a Diemaco/CC you'll find you really have to raise the front sight post, (assuming the rear sight isn't elevation adjustable).

I recently picked one up with the forged D on it, and like Polkey said very roughly forged. I got it for my M16A1 clone but found a different carry handle that better suits it

Not the real deal, here is a pic of mine, does not have aluminum thumb/wing nuts
