Single port or Dual port Action

Do you have many TR shooters attending your matches Josh?
Most times I am the only one , so I shoot on the Fclass target and the give me a 1 point handicap to make up for the target size difference 🙂

I can't say I have seen many. Although Glen Taylor said there was some around. Maybe get some people shooting and try to increase the TR shooters.

Pretty tough job to do that .
Glen and have talked about it and Jim Dugan as well as others. The conversations usualy end up with the conclusion that TR is simply too hard to learn in today's "instant gratification " society.
I have tried promoting TR in the pastwithout much success and have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that Fclass is easier so young shooters are not interested in learning how to shoot with sling'n'irons😒

Yeah I can understand that. Its an art shooting TR. I'd love to try it sometimes as it would be good to improve as an overall shooter

I have friends who want to TR shoot, but getting the equipment and ammo is a pain. Not everyone can drop 3-5k on one of these, feed it and spend time load for it, then not knowing the places and dates of matches. The only way I was able to get suckered in was to buy someone else's older rifle at low cost and start shooting it.

Is there bulk .308 or .223 for TR made by anyone? If I was to suggest one way to get people to do TR, is if someone could get a manufacturer to pump out bulk 155s or whatever the .223 is pre-made ammo.

2 cents.

Even 55 grain FMJ .233 ammo can get it done for the short range , it's the training that matters more than the gear IMO.
There is gear around that many older TR shooters are willing to forward to a new shooter , but the biggest issue is in contacting them I think.
As far as rifle go there is a Winchester M70 for sale on the exchange right now that has been there for a while , and it is ready to go.
However. Most new shooters would rather shoot with a scope and bipod .

Back to the topic however, I think I saw a couple of dual port actions on the exchange .
I have a friend who shoots left and shoots both left and right bolt Fclass guns, he likes the right port actions regardless of the location of the bolt .

Not all TR is the same - Cat I think you shoot IRON sights TR right ? Or are you shooting scoped TR also ? RJ
No that would be classed as Any/Any.
I am an irons shooter, traditional TR ( or fullbore as the old guys call it)
