1895 in 30-40, made in 1984, no tang safety at all on it, can't wait for my dies and brass, getting antsy. :D

Here it is. Les

Browning 1895

Nice, you'll love it. I've got one of the same vintage in 30-06. One of my favorites and a 'keeper'. Great rifles.

Why go through all of that for a tactical sniper when I can us AR's here. This will be my new Elk gun. Am definitely gonna upgrade to a peep. not sure if I want the Marbles, or want to spend the bucks for a real Lyman 21. Les

Peeps

Am definitely gonna upgrade to a peep. not sure if I want the Marbles, or want to spend the bucks for a real Lyman 21. Les

Is there a peep option that doesn't require drilling/tapping? It was my understanding that the Lyman requires new holes. And while I consider mine to be a 'hunter' I just couldn't bring my self to drill it.

I have considered stripping that 'Browning gloss' off of the stocks and doing a nice oil finish, may do that yet.

Yeah, that's pretty much my thinking too. I'll happily use the factory sights till something nice comes along that doesn't require more holes.

Let us know how she shoots, I'm curios as mine never gets shot at paper other than to check zero. She might have to kill a bear this spring though........:)

A Browning Les?

Think I'll copy this post over to the guys at the "Savage Collectors" site and let them have at you.

I'm back to typing with two hands again but damn it hurts.

Yep, I was diggin at Jed too, I have a 30-30 of his sitting in my safe right now. Told him he had to give me a great deal on one of his F if he ever wanted to see the 30-30 again. :D Got a line on what is supposed to be an 1895 Carbine locally, on older widower is selling her husbands guns. As soon as I see it, i'll get you a serial number on it. Les
