At the expense if getting into a conversation on my choice of chambering (contrary to my first post)... lol. It's all good man!https://atlasdg.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Product-Spec-Sheet-New-Calibers-2025.pdf
Don't mean to hijack the thread. Just wanted to show you another option with quality brass available later 2025.
7-300 PRC
I have a build thread going in the gunsmithing forum. I'll probably start a new thread up with all my updates sometime in the spring. There is your answer then.
I like the idea, looking forward to seeing what your results are like with this project.
Between yourself and Remington Jim: I am getting all the moral support needed to go full send on this one. LOL.Nice!
If you're going to go, then always go all the way!

The 7-300 PRC is huge, so is the 7 STW and 28 Nosler. I'm trying to find middle ground inbetween those and 7 Rem Mag and 7 PRC.
That photo of a magazine you listed, who makes that?
Jim is one of the best, if not the best enablers on this forum. Never not go full send!Between yourself and Remington Jim: I am getting all the moral support needed to go full send on this one. LOL.
The 7-300 PRC case is a beltless monster. It does have a larger diameter than the 300WM, and therefore has some issues fitting the Model 70... according to purveyors of the Trick Moves. That has been said from more than a few sources. Not a Model 70 expert by any stretch, tho.
seat the bullet in your chosen case to the depth you want then build according if you want the bullet seated to the base of the neck then build the rest around that spec
Thanks, but dummy rounds won't be necessary as I think that round is tipping a little too far into overbore territory for my liking. Plus it's a fatter case and I my particular Winchester 70 started out as a 300 win mag, and it will feed belted magnums without any trickery. I am doing most of the worknother than blueprinting the action and barrel installation so I'm not in the mood for playing around with feed rails. The 7-300 PRC case is a beltless monster. The big advantage that it does have is larger case capacity with a shorter OAL, which means more velocity. Like 3250 fps with 180 ELD-X's.
If Archie is interested, a few dummy could easily be tossed his way.

Acknowledging that your case in the 7-300 Weatherbee is probably slightly longer than a 7-300 Win Mag, I am guessing that at 3.790 COAL the base of your 180 ELDM bullet sits at (or above) the neck/shoulder junction. That's more affirmation to me why I need to go with the longer COAL and upgrade from the 3.6 mag box to the 3.8 in the Winchester.Archie - My 7-300 WBee is running a 3.790 COAL ! is my Max i am using at the moment !
