What is this stuff?

I recently purchased, at auction, a "treasure chest" containing a bunch of gun- and machining-related items. But there is some which I cannot identify....to begin with, these items:

So the circle on the die is the minor diameter of the thread I would assume ?

Basically they help you find the center of a round rod or bolt to drill it after.

These are quite handy... you can make a square hole by drilling a hole and soldering it in place. I made some boring bars using these to hold my square tool bits.

The brass pieces are laps. And of course the Thomson bushing are linier bearings and would be great for building a railgun. The round stock with the square holes could be tap holders or tap extensions.
