I had a chance to try out the fed Arms shorty with the SPRING assist.
I liked the gun. the looks, the feel, the style,..all was saying YES buy right now.

then we tried to shoot it......... wow what a negative experience.
It wouldnt load, it wouldnt eject. we tried all sorts of different lengths ammo.
It seemed like the gun was "out of time" . I seen a few video's with the same issue.
what has your experience ? was this just a really bad example ?
are these hit or miss ?

Turkish shotguns as a rule of thumb suck. Have no idea why they sell when the Maverick 88 exists and you get all the benefits of having something that's for the most part 500 compatible.

Have a buddy who bought a Girsan with the intention of joining me on waterfowl hunts. Begged and begged him to not buy a cheap Turkish gun and to just get a Mav if he was deadset on being cheap. Referred to multiple burn down videos on stuff coming out of Turkey and first hand accounts of other people who fell for the allure of a cheap clone, but he still went ahead and bought it thinking his experience would be different and everyone was just buying lemons.

As he figured out, my advice should have been followed...

Some Turk guns work ok
The more expensive ones do seem to be better then the real cheap ones
I had to send one to Odell for repair and it seems fine now
Another one had feeding issues from the detachable mag and cutting the mag spring 2 coils fixed that one
Got a cheap hunt group semi that I’m trying to get to cycle the ammo
It won’t cycle the cheap target loads or my light target reloads but seems to work with my heavier reloaded rounds
I wasn’t expecting much from a 550 dollar semi so worst case I can use it as a slide action lol
A 1301 beretta it definitely is not
Mossburg makes good reliable pump guns too
The Turk guns do have some neat designs to them they got the looks they just need to be better made/more reliable

Yep. There is no action release on it. I thought it would be good for bears but if you pull back slightly on the foregrip it won’t fire.
Incredible. Dangerous....incredibly dangerous. I simply would never own it knowing it can slide out of battery.

I like my SPM12. Its a great little shotgun at the price.
It works quite well if you ,learn to man handle the pump and push forward to a positive position before firing.
Spins spinners like a champ, lightweight and effective for competition with the 10 shell magazine.

Yes it's Turkish. Yes you have to work the pump handle forward but its s fun shotgun. My custom competition semi auto 3 Gun Shotgun costs 800% more, and I think this is great value if you work it through. (Of course there are always thise guns that just dont work).
