KW Area Newbie

Hey all,

CBSA Buddy of mine got me super interested in shooting after bringing me to the range a few times. Taking my safety courses at the end of March and will be applying for both my PAL and RPAL; hopefully looking for some like-minded folks in the area to hopefully meet and possibly learn from over the summer. Primarily interested in shooting long range, however options seem to be pretty limited here in Ontario.

Hello from KW as well! New member too but sounds like the go to range in KW is Range519 around here.
Yup, unfortunately my interest lies mostly in long gun and shotguns, neither of which is viable there. I know the Guelph Rod and Gun Club does, but I've emailed a few times and haven't heard a response. I've got a few buddies out in BC who currently shoot so I'm hoping to make my way out there in the summer to check out a couple of their ranges.

Guelph only takes new members by referral so good chance you won't hear back from them. The longest range is only 100 yard anyway. Twin City Rifle Club has a 300, but your timing may be off, new memberships may done by now. I could be wrong though, they shoot shotgun on Wednesday's like 5 or 6 ish if you go there and introduce yourself they might give you an application form if it's not too late. I'm pretty sure they do have a waiting list though.

Much appreciated; I reached out to the ORA about their intro days, so hoping to eventually get out to Borden to be able to do some long gun.
I'll have to check out Twin Cities, probably right in being to late, I'm assuming I won't be receiving my PAL until beginning of May if I'm lucky.

Using the current time to do as much research as I can.

Welcome, Bridgeport Rod and Gun is a great local range.

You should check them out.
I just saw they offer open trap shooting! Other than learning PRS that's the other discipline I've been primarily interested in. (And has nothing to do with absolutely terrifying drone footage I've been watching in Ukraine.)

Also from Kitchener area. I was looking at Range519, which I've been to for one of their range day packages, but ended up joining Colby Shooting Club in Waterloo as their prices were competitive, they offer 24/7 access, shotguns are allowed on the inner lanes, and I am a loyal Shooter's Choice customer as well. Downside is their range is approx 25 yrds.

You are more or less required to take their range safety course, but that also included a weekend of a variety of pistols and revolvers; I learned a whole lot. The only wait was that I needed to get a walk through to start shooting and that ended up lining up with turkey season lol. Anyway, also an option, though they don't have the rental option that 519 does.
