Hey everyone just wanted to bring forward an ongoing issue/saga I've been dealing with regarding the 590A1 14". I purchased my copy from RDSC in the summer of 2023 and felt something was a bit off when I got it. I'd planned on putting a red dot on it and as soon as it was mounted...yup, suspicions confirmed, the sight was canted to the right. To their credit RDSC was quick to respond and frowarded me to Wolverine Supplies who deal with Mossberg's warranty claims up North. Wolverine as always were a pleasure to work with, while Mossberg.... took their sweet time. Well, I finally get a replacement barrel and lo and behold, it's still canted. Not as badly as the original but enough to sour what was supposed to be a happy reunion. I've already sent an email back to Wolverine and will update their response as I get it. I just wanted to post partly to vent and partly to see if anyone else has had issues like mine with these shorty 590's . I know they're a popular option up here and I want anybody looking into one to be aware. Going back through google it seems to be an persistent (albeit not super common) issue with these guns.
As a post rant aside: I know that functionally this is not an issue. The dot is after all my main aiming device and the sights just serve as backup. On principal though it's such a let down. When I originally purchased the shotgun the factory Mossberg rear sight was slammed all the way to the left (with no ability to adjust for windage any further) to compensate for the FS cant....tells you a lot about their QC practises.
Here are the sights when I got the 590 in 2023:

And the replacement barrel I just received today:
