Hey everyone, I'm a new firearms owner. Could anyone point me in the direction of an optic for a Ruger American Gen 2 Standard .308

EDIT: I just bought a Arken SH-4J 6-24x50 Gen2. looking for 34mm high rings now lol.

There are tons of good options. Most guys with a scope over $250 that’s fully multicoated and with a solid warranty end up happy with them. Several solid brands out there. I’ve personally had excellent experiences with Burris and Vortex.
Value, price, quality, clarity, warranty. But I’ve never bought a high-end scope so have no experience in that realm.

Welcome to the community! Happy to have ya along for the ride with us during these wild times.

What you plan to primarily use it for will determine the best option for you. I do agree with 99Solutions on Burris or Vortex for affordability and warranty for a new shooter.
There is certainly higher end stuff out there but I think anything either of those companies make would suit you fine. There are a few options under $500 that would work from Vortex, I'd suggest looking at the Diamondback line probably for a simple easy to use scope while you're learning. You can always upgrade in time.

The optic/scope rabbit hole is very deep and very expensive you'll learn in time. Best of luck!

I just got the predator version of what you have. I put an Arken epl-4 4-16x44 on mine. I thought I might play with some steel at longer ranges, as well as having a good hunting setup. Super impressed with the accuracy so far.
