Yeah it’s a legit fishing/hunting store in Sudbury. More of a hipster fashion catering place now.
Denis over at the shooters den is way better. Not sure/don’t think he ships thought. Edit denis doesn’t deal with guns anymore.

I did, it’s literally a piece of aluminum tube I had laying around. Will paint it black soon. I used some black electrical tape to take up the small gap between the barrel nut and the ID of the aluminum tube, it’s a tight fit. And I can easily take it off with no damage to the barrel nut. It’s pretty sturdy too, I’m going to put a sling stud on there so I can mount a bipod at the range.

I am very tempted to pick one of these little guys up as a backpack survival rig. I was wondering if anyone made a longer handguard or something for a bit better ergos, so this gives me something to think about
I've used a couple of firearms that had a separate cocking piece, and made the interesting discovery that if you drew it most of the way back and let go it would drop onto the primer and fire without any need to bother with the trigger. I wonder if the Stowaway is good for that trick too.
(This could be a problem if your grip on it slipped while pointed over your backstop, so always take prudent care with these things. Fortunately I thought this was probably how it worked and did a controlled experiment rather than discovering this by accident!)

I did the same a few times in the beginning. Such is life when you've grown up on and used select-fire, self-loading weapons most of your adult life. And suddenly, under Lieberal rule, any and all semi-automatic firearms are too dangerous for use by the Canadian public. The very notion is ludicrous, given that we have been safely and responsibly using them for sport and hunting purposes for many generations now!
Muscle memory forms pretty quickly for the loading/manual cocking sequence. If nothing else, the system is pretty intuitive...

Got it together, going to zero it this weekend
I played with both the 9mm and the 5.7 with short barrels this weekend. The trigger is horrendous, but I wasn't expecting anything great from it.
We got what you would expect for accuracy out of a survival rifle and they were a blast to shoot. That 5.7 is screaming out of these things.
All in all, I really like them. I'll be getting one, or two just for packing around the trapline on the snowmobile and SxS.

Did you experience any accuracy issues with your 9mm Barrel? Mine is demonstrating horrendous accuracy even as close as 50m. I'm talking 6" - 10" groups. Conversely, the 5.7 (long) Barrel is a total tack-driver! I wish that I could figure out why my Short 9mm Barrel is tossing 124gr Blazer Brass projectiles all over the place.....
I was getting 2" at 50.. with Blazer I believe, but I can't remember the weight. I'll be trying it with several types of ammo this weekend.. I'll give you an update as to which it likes best when I'm done.
