Used Zastava M70 Mauser Rifles Provenance

No, I know better then to buy one of those outfits lol.
But even compared to PH98 or HVA98, 1600, etc, that blued Zastava was rough working the action, interior was finished with a chisel I think, real bad stuff. The stainless one is right on par with the PH/HVA's for interior clean milling for sure though.
Zastava quality varies with decade of production and contract, but those Norincos appear like they looked at the roughest Zastava ever made, reverse engineering it and looked at how they could make it 5x rougher.

Well, there you go. Good catch !

You can now get a great deal on a rifle that possibly once belonged to a communist dictator.

You mean like our own communist dictators we have in the tyrannical Liberal Government!......:(

Like Trudy Socks? Or Carbon tax Criminal Bankster Carney?

Someone get these dictators a parting gift.......:)

There was a sponsor here years ago, Tradex that had hundreds of almost identical used Swedish Mauser sporters listed (mostly m96 action stiga and husqvarna). The story at that time was that in either Sweden or Norway or maybe several different countries in Europe there is a long gun registry and per person or per household limit to the number of each classification of firearm you are allowed to own. When people go in to buy a new gun they often are forced to trade in an old gun they own but don’t use much. Gun dealers in those countries put them into a warehouse and sort them and export them to other countries.

Could be the same situation here?

Recently got a used rifle, husq 1640, to tinker with. Came in a lot to a dealer. Cleaning it, etc, I found a rolled up couple of postcard size papers in the butt. Not sure of the language but there are some dates and stuff. Maybe I'll try to translate them someday. Till then I can make up some adventure
