So who casts and who doesn't? There's very little chatter for 30,000+ members. I cast for every round I reload and shoot it in all my milsurps.

i voted yes..
but..
im a real green horn at it so far..ive only casted about 40 or 50 bullets for the m/ler so far.but i melted them all back down just to do it again at another time..
except for the mold,all my tools are home made,cant wait for good weather to get outside to make my first batch to blast off.
if all goes well with the m/ler ones ,i will take a stab at making up some for the 30-06:)
 
I make and market cast bullets, so far i have over 100 molds, by makers like, Lyman, Rcbs, Hoch, Paul Jones, Hensley and Gibbs, Saeco, NEI, Brooks, etc.Over 12 designs for the 45/70, I use 4 lubesizers(2-Lyman and 2-RCBS), over 40 dif. bullet sizing dies. Most of my guns are used for bullet testing which includes, bench rest shooting, penetration/exp. testing, as well as hunting, most of them have never seen a jacketed bullet.

There seems to be quite a few threads on casting.

Cast boolits are great but I hate scrounging around getting "sorry, we already have a guy who comes and gets our old wheel weights" every where you go. :(

Only other complaint was testing different loads and lubes to finally get a combination that works good. But now that part is over so it's smooth casting from now on... :)
 
Been Casting for a few years now, Have acumulated about 15 moulds (mostly RCBS, Saeco and Lyman), 2 lubrisizers, melt pot, ingot moulds, Gas checks, several hundred pounds of wheel weights, tin and linotype lead.

Cast for Pistol and rifle calibers, Expands my hobby and gets me quality boolits to feed my reloads, Been very happy with the results so far......
 
i cast for a my rossi 92 357 and i plan on getting a .30 mold for my savage 99 ASAP and also thinking of a .32 or so round ball mold to cast buckshot for my shotgun :D
 
Proud to be a leadhead!:) Used to cast for my milsurps, but now mostly for pistols as I've scaled back the milsurp collection.
 
I have a variety of molds for my pistols in 9,40,45. I have some guns that don't even know what a jacketed round is:)
 
I mainly cast heavy for caliber bullets in 9mm, 38, 44 and .500 as well as .375 rifle for my 375 Win. and many muzzleloader projectiles.
 
I too cast my own and some times I enjoy it very much and other times it can be a real pain. hahaha But really it feels good to know that no matter what I can go and shoot my guns,pistols when I want to. Back in the day I would see how much l had left over from the pay and then go and buy as many as I could . Then go and shoot them all off and stand around and watch the casters still shooting. I'm glad I can cast . (lets get the lead out)
